Hang Glider WOF Event

The AHGPC HG WOF inspection will be on Friday December 3rd 2021, from 14:00 to 19:00.
The weather is looking favourable, so it will go ahead.

John Burton, our Club HGSO, has gained permission from the administrators of Cornwall Park for us to again use the park grounds to hold our HG WOF inspection on Friday 3 December. A condition is that the gliders are to be static (no ground handling). Even though we have permission to use the park, the main gates are still closed to the public. Hopefully they will open before 3 December or else we will have to use another site.

We will meet at the largest car park (the Pohutukawa Drive Car Park) from 2:00 p.m. onwards. If you have a free schedule, please come early.

To get to the Pohutukawa Drive Car Park, drive along Greenlane West Road, then turn into Pohutukawa Drive and enter the main park through the stone gateway. Drive for about 400 meters until you come to a huge roundabout with car parking off to the right. You should be able to see gliders clearly from the road.

The park locks its gates at 8:00 p.m., but we should all be finished by 7:30 p.m. at the latest (around sunset).

IMPORTANT: The main access gates at Cornwall Park are currently locked. If the management has not decided to open them to the public by December 2nd, John will switch the venue of the WoF from Cornwall Park to the Roberta Reserve in Glendowie, which is near the corner of Riddell Road and Glendowie Road.

If the weather is windy or wet, or if the venue is to be at the Roberta Reserve in Glendowie, John will post a notification on the "Where are we flying?" WhatsApp group. If still in doubt, give John a text on 027 420 4094.

HOMEWORK: Please print out a copy (2 pages) of the OPMF22 HG WOF application form (see below). Please read through it beforehand as this will really help to speed up the WOF process.

One OPMF22 form per glider is required i.e. if you have two gliders to WOF, then you will need two copies of the form.

Please bring a pen.
