Hang Gliding

Unfortunately, there are currently no hang gliding schools operating in Auckland, so if you would like to learn how to hang glide you have to venture slightly further afield. 

The closest options are Sean Oliver, who is based in Raglan, Guntram Gross in Whangarei, and Rick Hawkeswood in Thames. See the hang gliding page for more details.

Paragliding

Auckland is a great place to learn to fly a paraglider, with Karioitahi Beach  - located on the west coast near Waiuku - providing the perfect environment to learn in a safe and progressive manner. We are lucky to have several paragliding schools in the region who can help you with your learning and progression to advanced piloting.
