Hang Gliding

Unfortunately, there are currently no hang gliding schools operating in Auckland.  If you would like to learn how to hang glide you have to venture slight further afield, either north or south. The closest options are Sean Oliver, who is based in Raglan, Guntram Gross in Whangarei, and Rick Hawkeswood is in Thames, and See the Hang Gliding page for details.

Paragliding

Auckland is a great place to learn to fly a paraglider, with Karioitahi Beach  - located on the west coast near Waiuku - providing the perfect environment to learn in a safe and progressive manner. We are lucky to have two excellent paragliding schools, Wings & Waves and Skywings, who can both provide the essential training and equipment that you require to become involved in this great sport.
