OMG! Let there be light.

Using Photoshop I have managed to "correct" the RASP maps and charts to make Sunday flyable at Moirs. If we all turn up we can follow Jeff and Evan to Mangawhai, hanging a Left at Tamahunga and flying the late afternoon convergence up the coast.

I'm still working on a slightly higher base, just to make it a little bit easier for us mere mortals.

At least we will be able to forget about that Voting thingy, and do something that really matters.

Looking Good

Could be interesting with lighter winds higher up than I have experienced before at Moirs, with a shift to the North later. Maybe a Triangle or Out and Return. (Yeah Right).

Sunday Morning: Gone is the convergence up the Island. Now looks like a flight towards Leigh. Still lighter winds around 3G. Still going to try. Launch after Noon probably.

Anyone Fly?

Looked ok from my place from 12 on. Unfortunately the mother-in-law managed to drive off the road on the way down (last nasty right-hander on gravel before you hit the seal) which put paid to any possibility of me heading out to the t/o... She managed to extract herself from the vehicle 40 metres off the road, down in the bush - luckily a small pine halted her progress to the bottom. But it was a timely reminder, at the beginning of the season, to watch the driving heading up to and returning from Moirs and sites like it. It pays to take a look over the edge to know where you might end up if you do go awry - she's a long drop at some spots. Moir Hill Road has seen a noticable increase in traffic due to new development, and it isn't unusual to meet on-coming traffic on the blind bends. So... be careful out there...

Jeff forgot his Passport.

Look at Leonardo.

Jeff managed to go "offshore". No doubt a good story about a retreive there.
