GPS Downloading to Computer

Logged my flight on the weekend on my new GPS. (Garmin 60) Downloaded the track log to my computer using the Garmin software supplied but I notice there is no date/time data in the log.
Also downloaded using GPSDUMP. The date/time data reads something like 31 December 1989 and the time starts at 0000 hrs.
Even had a go at creating an IGC file, same result.
I have my GPS set to record at 5 second intervals rather than auto, is this the culprit, or is there something else going on that I am missing.
Of course I am assuming that date/time data is recorded in the track log, and is part of the data that is downloaded.

I have read something on paraglidingforum about time data being lost when you save the track log on the GPS before you download it to a PC. Try recording a track without saving it and download the entire track log to the PC. I'd be interested to hear if this makes a difference.

Thanks Wayne,

Have tested and can confirm. Seems weird that a saved track log doesn't download this data. Sort of defeats the purpose of saving track logs.
