Moirs Today?
Forecast is Southerly 15kn easing, swinging SE later in the day. Moirs weather station 8:45 am says S 185 steady 16kns gust 22 calm 8. A little too strong for me but I will review at 10 am. Some nice looking clouds forming to the north. Will need to get there as the wind eases but before it swings SE. Anyone else keen to venture north?
Sunday looks like 15kn + E.

Hey Tony....a few of us ventured up there late. It was howling until about 1:30 then died off completely. We soared on bubbles whilst the sun was out with Derek and Nick up reasonably high a few times. Derek reported the wind was E at the top but no one was high enough (and the climbs were so slow) to bother going over the back. When the lift died it went suddenly and Jeff Ripley, me and Derek slope landed then climbed back up to re-launch. Restitution came on and we soared up to 1000' above TO and then I peeled off and landed back at the carpark.
Had a meeting up at Whangarei on Mon so stopped into Dills on the way back for some more restitution flying on the N facing ridge. Typically it was working well over the valley and very smooth and bouyant. could easily fly along the E facing ridgee to the forest areas and back.
