Spring MUST be close now.....

Hanging out for some XC action. *sigh......*

Re: Spring MUST be close now..

Sorry Daron, I've just brought a new glider, thus guaranteeing no flyable days for a long time.

Seriously tho, let me know if you spot a window - don't we usually get at least one weekend in spring?

I think...cough,cough, I am geting...wheeze, a chest cold. I think some altitude might ease the congestion. Tueday just might be a sick day.....spend time recouperating at Moirs Hill..!

A few of us ventured up to Moirs yesterday for a crack at the first spring thermals. Conditions were reasonably dynamic but we all managed to climb out and go over the back. Base was 3,900ft. Xen, Hugo and Myself landed past Matakana with Hugo and me at 20km and Xen around 21'ish. Alex landed between Warkworth and Matakana. Not sure of the distance. Great flight for Alex as it was his first time XC from Moirs.

Exhausted after such a short hop over the back. Here's a pic as I got spat out the side of a cloud over Dark Summit at 4,700ft

Sure was a great day! Here is my flight. http://www.paraglidingforum.com/modules.php?name=leonardo&op=show_flight...
Special congrats to Alex as the conditions weren't really pumping (1 and 2 ups) and a bit gusty on the ridge. Good effort to get away.
