Kariotahi track maintenance day

We had a good sized turnout of 4 PG pilots and 2 hangies today, a donation of gravel from Knight & Dickey of Waiuku, andthe assistance of John Gibbs of the Beach Protection Group who delivered the gravel to the site. Thanks, John!

Leslie showed us how to dig water runoff trenches that will reduce the rainwater erosion. Overall the track is in good condition, and the maram grass we planted back in May 2005 is doing well.
I will keep an eye on the track over this flying season. We will probably need to have another maintenance session next year, so keep your shovels at the ready...
