Kariotahi Track Maintenance - POSTPONED

Due to a bereavement, the planned track maintenance has been postponed. We will post another update once another date has been decided.

Hello All,
I have been on the phone to John Gibbs of the Kariotahi Beach Protection group who supplied us with 2 trailer-loads of free gravel at the end of last year. He has agreed to bring another load of gravel to the track. All I have to do is give him a couple of days' notice.
I have spoken to Leslie about a working bee to dig some channels on the sides of the track. We think that the last weekend of October (27th or 28th) (after Labour Day weekend) is the best time. Leslie will direct and we can dig.
I suggest that we pencil in an early morning start on the track, dig the trenches and maybe replant a bit of maram grass. We can get John Gibbs to bring in his trailer of gravel by the mid-morning.
If we can get 3-4 diggers, it will really help. Who's got some time to swing on the end of a shovel?
