Twitter

Great job getting this set up Wayne. Thanks so much. Now a single text message can be the notice for a local xc comp. We could even set the task by text message and just go flying. And for users of Leonardo live the track can be loaded when we land so the scoring is done before we have even packed up. Now that is instant gratification.

Twitter - They got that right!

Ok

I seem to have created a Twitter account "tonyCPG", good.

Went to verify my cellphone and ended up creating what appears to be a different mobile account "tonycowley1", I got texts back welcoming me to twitter etc. Yet the verification screen didn't disappear as it says it is meant to after refreshing on the WEB.

Appear to be a follower of "ahgpc" after I sent "follow ahgpc".

Thought oops thats not going to work as its not being followed by "ahgpc".

So I sent a "leave ahgpc" but nothing has changed.

Q: How do I change my mobile account name to match my Web account name "tonyCPG" so my mobile will receive updates?

Q: How do I get "tonycowley1" off the "ahgpc" followers list?

WTFAID?

I'm sure launching in 50knts is easier than this.Smile

Twitter setup

I don't know how you ended up with the tonycowley1 account. I have heard that sometimes the txt messages don't get through to twitter so maybe that explains why the changes aren't showing up.

You do need to follow ahgpc and be followed by ahgpc. When you added your Twitter account name to Cloudbase a message was sent to Twitter to make ahgpc follow you, so that looks like it is working. Your setup looks OK to me at the moment. ahgpc is not following tonycowly1, so that's OK too.

Sounds like you just need to check that your phone number is set up correctly. Just send a tweet to 8987 and see if it shows up on your Twitter page - http://twitter.com/tonyCPG

Sometimes it takes a while for changes to show up on the Twitter web site so be patient.

Damn 0's

Looks like my problem related to me trying to set up a Device (mobile phone) with the 0 in 027.

I was entering +64027XXXXXXX as opposed to correctly entering +6427XXXXXXXX.

Seems to now work if I send myself a text from my phone.

Couldn't find any suitable SE launch sites to try the 50knts, so spent my time mucking around with Twitter instead.

Regards Tony
