Anyone have a Garmin Worldmap CD I could borrow?

Hi All,

This is in anticipation of me acquiring a GPSMAP 76S shortly. Is the detail on the world map cd that much better than the basemap on the unit? Can someone tell me how many MB the content for NZ (N + S) is? The screen is b&w, memory is about 24MB I think.

NZ maps

Hi Dennis,

 

I have a 76 s and was able to load a few of the maps available for NZ. For example I was able to load the maps for Auckland, Waikato and Wellington but not the entire North Island because of insufficient memory in the unit. I used the installer version of the maps and Mapsource to upload to the unit. As I am coming to NZ next Sunday I should be able to report on how well the maps work (if I don't get lost right away that is ;-)
