Auckland/Waikato Paragliding Comp1 POSTPONED to reserve dates

The Auckland/Waikato Paragliding Competitions are just around the corner. The first one is on 14 & 15 Feb and the second on 7 & 8 Mar. Check out the Competitions pages for details and registration information.

Appears if you don't login you can gain access as a guest.

I'm sure this will be rectified soon.

That's strange, it works fine for me. Try it again and if you get the same problem hold down the shift key and click refresh. Let me know how you get on.

When logged in I still get access denied no matter which link to Competitions I try.

But no problem if I'm not logged in.

Comp postponed to reserve dates

Typically just after a spell of good weather we have a comp scheduled. We did hold out some hope of a task or two being possible if we went south but the forecasts are showing a little too much wind from the E and SE so we will have to postpone to next weekend. 21 and 22 Feb. If only we could overlay a Valle de Bravo forecast on to the North Is we would be OK.

Have you got the new dates right, I thought the reserve dates for the event are the 28feb-1st March, this is whats reflected in Airborn and unless we can contact everyone is this fair? (Waikato guys etc), dont mean to throw a spanner in the works but I had a simular thing happen last year. Thanks.

Hi Robbo,

We had a bit of a problem come up with the hangies booking in a comp at the Paeroas on the weekend of the 28th. The clash with our reserve dates wasn't noticed by anyone until the dates had been published in Airborne. In an effort to avoid any conflict with their comp I agreed to move the reserve dates for our comp forward one week to the 21st 22nd. I posted notices about that on the forums here and the NZHGPA site on Jan 15 and I changed the dates on the competitions page. It was too late to change Airborne. We do have contact with interested pilots through the on line registrations here and by virtue of the note that says to check the comps web page or contact the organisers for updates.

I am sorry of this seems a bit messy but I will make every effort to contact everyone if it looks like the comp will go ahead this weekend.

Of course the weather has acted with pefect precision and looks like stuffing up both weekends.
