Airspace MapAirspace MapThe Site Guide now has a new feature - an online 3D airspace map. You can download the map and view it on the Google Earth desktop application or download the Google Earth plugin and view the map right on the web page.

Check it out here.

Thanks Wayne

That is awesome.

Understanding Airspace Map

Is there some way of seeing what the vertical limits are?

Airspace vertical limits

If you are using the Google Earth desktop application you can right click on an airspace in the left hand panel and select properties.

In the online site guide the only way at the moment is to zoom in until your eye level is near the airspaces you want to look at and then use the little eye icon at the top right to tilt the view. Click on the eye and drag it up or down to adjust the tilt.

That way you can see the airspaces in profile and adjust your eye height until you are at the top or bottom limit. Then look at the eye altitude at the bottom of the screen.

Tips:
If you hold down the Alt key while navigating it will move in smaller steps. This helps a lot when you are trying to fine tune the eye height.
Turn off the unnecessary airspaces (especially the big high ones) to reduce the clutter. You can turn them off using the tree list below the map on the site guide page, or on the left if you are using the desktop application.

I will try to work out some way to annotate the map with this information when I get the time.
